After completion of two years, an IANS team visited Ayodhya to inspect the construction work. The IANS team spoke to Champat Roy, General Secretary of the Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, on a range of issues from grand temple construction to the development of a new Ayodhya.
Champat Roy said that the construction of Ram Mandir has been completed up to 40 percent. Currently, the work related to the temple pedestal is going on. The construction work of the new temple will be completed by December 2023, when people will be able to visit the Ram Mandir. The temple complex is being constructed in an area of 67 acres. Construction work is being done with modern machinery and technology. The foundation of the temple is built to a depth of 15 meters.
The construction work of the protective wall in the western part of the temple is going on. To the west of the temple is the river Sarayu. A protective wall is being constructed keeping in mind all the geographical conditions. The wall is deep enough to withstand heavy rain and soil erosion. In case, arrangements are being made to prevent any harm to the Sarayu Nadi Pongina temple.
Mandapam construction will start next month After the foundation stone of the temple is completed, the mandapam construction work will start and 400 pillars will be installed on it. Pillars have already been erected to make the entire temple hall including the sanctum sanctorum. The Kudu Mandapam, Nritya Mandapam and Ranga Mandapam pillars of the Ram Mandir will be installed in 30 days.
The city of Ayodhya is situated on the banks of Sarayu River. Whoever comes here does not go back without believing in Sarayu. Keeping this in mind, the restoration and reconstruction of the ghats on Sarayu river has started. Complete development of the new ghat has been completed. Earlier, those who came here used to have a lot of trouble to bathe and change their clothes. But now keeping in mind the respect of women, a changing room for women has been constructed. At the same time special attention is being paid to the cleanliness of these ghats.

If the Ram Mandir temple is ready, the surrounding people will get employment. The number of devotees who come here is in lakhs. According to an estimate, the number of devotees coming here is more than two lakhs. Food and accommodation arrangements will be made for the benefit of the local people for the devotees coming from outside. For this, a road map for the development of Ayodhya has also been prepared along with the construction of Ram Mandir.
