365Telugu.com Online News, Hyderabad, September 24th, 2022: Telangana government has taken strict action on the incident of family planning operations (DPL camp) in Ibrahimpatnam hospital on 25th of last month. Based on the report given by the committee appointed by the government under the director of public health, the government is ready to take strict measures.
Rangareddy DMHO, DCHS transferred. The government has ordered regular training measures for all 13 medical personnel including them. It includes Ibrahimpatnam Hospital DPL Camp Officer Dr. Nagajyoti, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Geetha, Head Nurse Chandrakala along with Madugul PHC Dr. Srinivas, Supervisors Alivelu, Mangamma, Manchal PHC Dr. Kiran, Supervisor Jayalatha, Dandamilaram PHC Dr. Poonam, Supervisor Janakamma. .
District Hospitals Medical Services Coordinator (DCHS) Jhansi Lakshmi has been transferred by the health department and directed to report at Shad Nagar Hospital. She was advised to take regular training measures against her. Kondapur Area Hospital Superintendent Dr. Varadachari has been assigned additional responsibilities as Ranga Reddy DCHS. Disciplinary action has also been ordered against Ibrahimpatnam hospital superintendent Dr Sridhar who has already been suspended. Orders have been issued to register a criminal case against Dr. Joyal Sunil Kumar who performed family planning operations.
On the one hand, the Telangana government has taken strict action against those responsible and on the other hand, based on the report given by the committee, it has issued guidelines regarding the management of family planning operations. All teaching hospitals, Vaidya Vidhana Parishad hospitals and primary health care centers have to comply with these, the order said.
New guidelines for family planning operation
1, Family planning operations should be done as part of hospital services.
2, The operations to be done only on the fixed day. Mandatory observation should be done for 24 hours after the operation.
3, According to the pre-determined calendar, the operatives can come on any day of their choice.
4, The supervisor of the concerned hospital should visit the discharged patient once in 24 hours and twice in a week to know the health condition of the discharged patient.
5, The concerned PHC Medical Officer should also go and examine all the operated persons under their jurisdiction within two days. Patients should be monitored by the concerned supervisor or medical officer.
6, Hospital Superintendent, Surgeon, DPL Camp Officer should ensure compliance of pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative standards.
7, Training classes should be conducted from time to time for the supervisors to remind them of the problems arising after the operations.
8, A special system should be set up to evaluate the skill of DPEL surgeons once a year.
9, The State Level Joint Director in the Commissioner’s office should conduct a review on sterilization with the management officers, surgeons and other staff once in three months.
10, No more than 30 operations should be performed in one hospital in a day following quality standards.
11, The superintendents who are the chairman of the infection control committee in the respective hospitals should review the prevention and control of infection every Monday.
12, Infection control officers and nurses in teaching hospitals, TVVP hospitals should be trained in new methods of infection control from time to time at NIMS hospital.
13, DMAE, TVVP Commissioner should ensure that infection prevention standards are followed, especially in operation theaters and ICUs.
