365Telugu.com online news,January 17th, 2023 : The government feels that if farmers try to sell organic agricultural produce at their own level, they are not getting enough profit, so selling through cooperative societies will do more good. For that, the central government has come forward to promote organic products.
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 11 approved the formation of a National Level Cooperative Committee for the sale of organic agricultural products.
It involves the collaboration of various ministries. The market, the customer demand, is there.
In this context, in order to directly benefit the farmers, the role of cooperative societies is important, and in this regard important decisions were taken in the meeting held with the concerned groups.
Compared to the price of organic wheat, there is a difference of Rs.20 to 25 per kg. In such a situation, the unique role of cooperatives in providing additional income to the farmers has come to the fore.
A national committee approved by the government focuses on various aspects of organic farming.
This includes certification of organic products, increasing domestic and international demand consumption capacity, branding etc. A cooperative society will be formed to provide all this.
It was named “National Co-operative Organic Limited”. It has five promoters. Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul), NAFED, NCCF, NDDB and NCDC will jointly launch this organic cooperative.
