It is mentioned that ED is likely to go to Punjab soon.
It is known that Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was arrested by CBI while taking action on liquor policy in Delhi. A similar policy was implemented in Punjab.
After this, now the ED can also investigate the people associated with it in Punjab, increasing the scope of investigation in this matter.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted about the Delhi-style excise policy being implemented in Punjab. Remember that Sirsa had complained about this to the ED last year. Manjinder Sirsa stated that the ED had summoned several officials based on his complaint.
He speculated that the ED may take action on this soon. Manjinder Singh Sirsa tweeted that a complaint was sent to CBI and ED on September 13, 2022 after a case was registered against the liquor policy in Delhi.
Explained how this policy was designed. Not only that, the complaint clearly wrote that Manish Sisodia also held a meeting at his house in Delhi during the formulation of this policy.
Punjab ministers and officials also reached Delhi
Manjinder Sirsa alleged that Punjab Excise Minister and officials have reached Delhi for meetings called by Manish Sisodia. Not only this, the wholesale work came to only two parties, for which a tailor mail was also prepared.
In this it was decided to give all the work to Bredco and Ananth Wines. A case has also been registered against Breadco in Delhi. Sirsa said that his complaint is pending with the ED. Several officials of Punjab were also summoned. A case is expected to be registered soon in Punjab as well.
CBI should increase scope of investigation: Bikram Majithia
Targeting Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia said the scope of the ongoing CBI probe into Delhi’s liquor policy scam should be extended to Punjab.
He said that Punjab leaders also had a hand in making this policy. He said that the Enforcement Directorate should conduct a separate inquiry into the allegations of money laundering in this case.
Majithia tweeted that the CBI should investigate the role of senior officials and AAP leaders who conspired to provide huge benefits to liquor manufacturers at the expense of the exchequer.
Majithia said the investigating agencies were not being allowed to do their work as the party chief, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal felt that the investigation could reach him.
