365Telugu.com Online News, Delhi, March 2nd, 2023: Under Procurement (Indian-IDDM) category Rs. The Union Cabinet has approved an agreement with L&T for three cadet training ships (Cships) worth over Rs 3,100 crore.
Delivery of the vessels is scheduled to begin in 2026. The contract was awarded under the Indian-IDDM (Indigenous Design, Developed Manufacturing) category of procurement.
These ships will be used to train officer cadets, including women, at sea once they complete their basic training to meet the future requirements of the Navy. Apart from this, it can be deployed for humanitarian aid and disaster relief to friendly countries with the aim of strengthening diplomatic relations.
These ships are completely indigenous. It will be built at L&T Shipyard, Kattupally, Chennai. Through this project, 22.5 lakh working days will be created in a period of four and a half years.
Air Force Aircraft C-17 Globemaster-3 Participating in Indo-Japan Military Exercises A transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster-3 of the Indian Air Force is participating in the Indo-Japanese joint military exercise. The military exercises ‘Shinyu Maitri’ conducted in Japan will continue from March 1 to 2.
According to an official statement, the Indian Air Force is participating in the exercise along with the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF).
The exercise is being conducted as part of India-Japan joint military exercise ‘Dharma Guardian’ which is being held from February 13, 2023 to March 2, 2023 in Komatsu, Japan.
