Under this, arms, naval vessels, missile systems and other equipment are to be procured for various parts of the army.
A defense contract worth Rs 19600 crore has been awarded to the Navy for procurement of 11 next-generation patrol vessels and six next-generation missile corvettes. At the same time, the Army has signed an agreement with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to purchase two regiments of Akash air defense missile system worth Rs 6000 crore.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense has sanctioned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) with Rs. Placed an order for 13 Linex-U2 fire control systems worth Rs 1700 crore.

Defense sources said this is an advanced version of the missile system, which will increase the firepower of the Indian Army.
Akash will increase India’s defense capability on the Chinese border. The Akash missile system will be deployed in the highlands along the Line of Actual Control with China. This will increase the defense capability of the army. Compared to the current Akash missile, this advanced missile system uses an indigenous active radio frequency (RF) seeker, making it more accurate.
