365Telugu.com online news, November 4th,2024: A heartwarming scene unfolded on Sunday as mother Yamuna and her son Sreerag began their first day of work together on a KSRTC Swift bus. Sreerag, newly appointed as a bus driver, took the wheel for his first route, with his mother serving as the conductor on the electric bus route from East Fort to the Medical College.
This was Sreerag’s inaugural duty since joining KSRTC just a week prior, following the completion of his training. Yamuna, who has been part of KSRTC since 2009, previously served as a temporary fill-in conductor and made history in 2022 by becoming the first female employee of the Swift service.
For her, seeing her son start his career in the same field she has dedicated herself to represented a cherished dream, particularly as she received her own position from the Chief Minister on her first day.
Before joining KSRTC, Sreerag worked as a temporary driver for the forest department. He and his mother trained together for their respective roles at KSRTC, strengthening their bond in the process. The City ATO, C. P. Prasad, honored Sreerag’s wish to share his first duty shift with his mother, making the occasion even more memorable.
Passengers were delighted to see the mother-son duo working side by side, and during their breaks, they enjoyed homemade meals together. Family support was abundant that day, as Yamuna’s husband, Rajendran Asari, along with their other children, Siddharth and Rakendu, and Sreerag’s wife, Minnu, came to celebrate this significant milestone.
