The initiative involved strategic installation of energy-efficient LED lighting across the villages, supported by local community participation to ensure proper placement and ongoing upkeep. Residents were also trained in basic maintenance, fostering local ownership and creating a self-sustaining model.

Nikhil Gupta, Head of Marketing, Strategy, Government Affairs & CSR – Signify, Greater India, shared:
“Access to reliable lighting is more than just infrastructure — it’s empowerment. With Har Gaon Roshan, we’re building safer communities, supporting education, and enabling economic activity. Each illuminated street and home is a step toward sustainable rural progress.”
The ‘Har Gaon Roshan’ initiative specifically targets underserved rural areas where power infrastructure exists, but outdoor lighting is inadequate. Through high-efficiency LED technology, the program ensures low-maintenance, long-lasting illumination that benefits residents across all walks of life — from students to farmers to small businesses.
