U-15 Optimist Fleet: Shreya Krishna Clinches Gold, Lahiri Takes SH Babu Trophy

The spotlight was firmly on Shreya Krishna (Tamil Nadu) and Lahiri Komaravelly (Telangana) in the U-15 girls category. With only a one-point difference between them going into Race 9, a surprising 16th-place finish by Shreya and a commanding win by Lahiri seemed to tilt the balance. However, Shreya bounced back to win Race 10, with Lahiri placing second.

With the series called off after 10 races, Shreya Krishna claimed Gold in both the Open and Girls categories, while Lahiri took Silver in both and walked away with the coveted SH Babu Memorial Trophy—awarded to the most consistent performer without any discards.

Both sailors are ranked #1 and #2 nationally, with Lahiri now preparing for the Langkawi Youth Championships and Shreya set to compete at the World Championships. Chandralekha Tatari (Telangana) secured Bronze and will also represent India in Langkawi.

Notably, the top two positions in the U-15 category were claimed by girls, marking a proud moment for Indian sailing.
