Bajaj Degree College for Women, Mahila Dakshata Samiti, and Bansilal Malani College of Nursing, took a significant step toward empowering young women by launching a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The event took place at Gangaram, Chandanagar, Hyderabad, and was attended by dignitaries, faculty, students, and community leaders dedicated to advancing women’s education.

The ceremony was graced by Smt. Sudha Dev Ji Varma, the First Lady of Telangana, who served as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring keynote address. Notable Guests of Honour included Dr. V.S. Alagu Varshini, IAS, Secretary of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Society (TSWREIS), Smt. Manisha Saboo, Vice President of Infosys and Head of Infosys Foundation, and Smt. Pallavi Katiyar, Chief Information Officer at Tech Mahindra.

Dr. Saroj Bajaj, President of Mahila Dakshata Samithi, opened the event with an overview of the institution’s various colleges, including its junior college, degree college, nursing college, and vocational training center. She highlighted the importance of the new BBA program in equipping young women with the skills and confidence to thrive as professionals and entrepreneurs. “This program will pave the way for our students to excel in the corporate world with knowledge, skills, and integrity,” she stated.

In her address, Smt. Sudha Dev Ji Varma praised Mahila Dakshata Samithi for its commitment to empowering girls from diverse backgrounds through a supportive learning environment. She emphasized the broader impact of educating girls, saying, “Educating a girl means educating a family, a community, and ultimately, a nation.” She lauded the BBA program as a progressive step aligned with national initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, and Startup India, and urged the students to harness their potential in a rapidly changing world.

Smt. Manisha Saboo, in her speech, encouraged the students to appreciate the opportunity to pursue higher education, noting that many girls in India are still deprived of this privilege. “Education is the key to addressing societal and economic disparities. It empowers you to challenge norms and take control of your future,” she remarked.

Dr. V.S. Alagu Varshini shared her personal story of perseverance, recounting her journey to becoming an IAS officer and studying at Harvard University despite financial challenges and lack of guidance. “With a clear goal, hard work, and discipline, no dream is too big to achieve,” she said, inspiring the audience with her determination.

Smt. Pallavi Katiyar highlighted the growing importance of digital skills in the business landscape. She advised students to become digitally proficient and adaptable, emphasizing the need for leadership qualities in the future workforce. “Business education today must integrate technology for well-rounded growth. Believe in yourselves—you have the power to lead, innovate, and inspire,” she told the students.
