According to reports, Patlolla Nagalakshmi, the panchayat secretary of Budhera village, was caught by officials while accepting a bribe of Rs.8,000.

A complainant had approached her for the allotment of a new house number for an open plot and permission for setting up a water servicing shed. In return, the secretary allegedly demanded a bribe.
After receiving a complaint, officials laid a trap and caught Nagalakshmi while she was taking the money inside the panchayat office.
