365Telugu.com online news,Mumbai,June 19,2025:ZEE5, India’s leading homegrown video streaming platform, proudly announces the premiere of its latest Telugu original series, ‘Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting’, a spine-chilling supernatural thriller set against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of rural Andhra Pradesh. Starring Abhignya Vuthaluru and Charan Lakkaraju, and directed by Krishna Poluru, the series premieres exclusively on June 27, only on ZEE5.
Set in the 1980s, in the eerie, fear-stricken village of Viraatapalem, the story revolves around a sinister curse: every bride mysteriously dies on her wedding day. With no marriages occurring for over a decade, the village has fallen into silence, gripped by superstition and fear. But when a determined police constable, played by Abhignya Vuthaluru, is posted to Viraatapalem, she refuses to accept the curse as fate. Teaming up with a reformed convict, she begins to unravel a web of secrets that the village has buried deep.

“One woman. One cursed village. A thousand buried secrets.”
Blending supernatural elements with an emotional and investigative core, Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting offers an atmospheric viewing experience—infused with folklore, mystery, and a powerful social message.
A Story Rooted in Fear and Resilience
Anuradha Gudur, Business Head, ZEE5 Telugu, shared:
“At ZEE5, we are committed to telling stories that reflect real emotions, fears, and courage. Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting not only keeps you on the edge of your seat but also explores how fear can control communities, and how bravery can break decades of silence.”
Director Krishna Poluru, known for Recce, said:

“It’s exciting to partner with ZEE5 again. This series is about a village haunted by a belief so strong it has turned into fear, and then silence. We’ve built a world that is dark, realistic, and emotionally raw — where one woman asks the question everyone else is afraid to raise.”
Producer Sriram, South Indian Screens, added:
“This story stood out from the beginning. It’s layered, mysterious, and grounded in the kind of unspoken fears many communities live with. After Recce, working on this project allowed us to push boundaries and explore something more intense and atmospheric.”
Abhignya Vuthaluru, who plays the lead role, said:
“Playing PC Meena was both challenging and rewarding. The role demanded emotional strength and subtlety, especially in a world driven by fear rather than facts. Filming in real village locations added an authenticity that I believe will truly resonate with audiences.”

A Battle Between Fear and Truth
With superstition, suspense, and a bold message at its heart, Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting is more than just a thriller—it’s a journey into the soul of a silenced village, and a battle between truth and fear.
