365Telugu.com online news,July,19th 2025:Former Team India head coach Anil Kumble has strongly advocated for Jasprit Bumrah’s inclusion in the remaining two Tests of the ongoing India-England series. With the fourth Test set to begin in Manchester on July 23, Kumble underlined the fast bowler’s pivotal role in India’s lineup.
Bumrah’s Rest Plan Under Review
As part of BCCI’s workload management strategy, Bumrah was originally slated to play only three of the five Tests. He featured in matches at Headingley and Lord’s but was rested for the third Test at Edgbaston. The decision, made by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir, now appears to be under reconsideration given the series situation.
Kumble’s Strong Stand
“I would definitely want Bumrah to play the fourth Test. It’s a must-win game,” said Kumble. “If he misses this and we lose, the series could be lost. He must play both the final Tests.” He also suggested that Bumrah could be given rest during the upcoming home series if necessary, given there’s a week-long break before the Manchester Test.
Bumrah’s Series Performance
Bumrah has been instrumental so far, taking 12 wickets in just four innings—second only to Mohammed Siraj in the series tally.
India Eyes a Comeback
India is aiming to bounce back after a narrow 22-run defeat in the previous Test. The fourth Test begins at Old Trafford, Manchester, on July 23, with the fifth and final Test scheduled at The Oval from July 31 to August 4.
