365telugu.com online news,Mumbai, September4th, 2025: Waaree Energies Limited, India’s largest solar module manufacturer and a key player in renewable energy, has announced its entry into the transformer business by acquiring a 64% equity stake in Kotsons Private Limited. The acquisition, valued at approximately ₹192 crores through a primary capital infusion, makes Kotsons a subsidiary of Waaree Energies. The investment will be directed towards expanding Kotsons’ manufacturing capacity to meet rising domestic and international demand.
Founded in 1979, Kotsons has over 40 years of expertise in transformer manufacturing. Its Alwar, Rajasthan facility has a current capacity of 4,000 MVA and produces transformers up to 35 MVA 36kV. The company is now preparing to expand production capabilities to include 110kV, 132kV, and 220kV transformers. With UL certifications for dry transformers, Kotsons is also well-positioned to export to advanced markets such as the USA and Canada.
India’s transformer sector is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8–10%, reaching USD 5–6 billion by 2030. This growth is being driven by emerging industries including green hydrogen, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, data centers, 5G deployment, and railways. By integrating Kotsons into its portfolio, Waaree strengthens its vertical integration strategy, gaining greater control over technology, quality, and sustainability.

For Waaree customers, the move offers a broader energy solutions package—ranging from world-class solar modules to high-efficiency, eco-friendly transformers that support grid stability, enhance project economics, and enable faster deployment. With Kotsons’ international certifications, Waaree also boosts its ability to serve global markets.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dr. Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director of Waaree Group, said:”Transformers are vital to renewable energy projects, ensuring efficient distribution and reliable grid integration. Our entry into the transformer business through Kotsons is a natural step in our mission to deliver integrated, end-to-end energy solutions.
This acquisition not only strengthens Waaree’s vertical integration but also positions us to play a larger role in the global energy transition. Together with Kotsons’ expertise and global-ready certifications, we aim to provide customers with sustainable, reliable, and internationally compliant solutions.”
