The New York Immigration Fund, a regional center based in New York City, hosted an EB-5 Investor Visa Program Overview session at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) on Monday.
Addressing the media, Mr. Ilya Fishkin, Esq., Immigration Attorney, emphasized that despite the confusion and lengthy backlogs in other visa categories, EB-5 remains a dependable route to secure an American Green Card.
He advised potential investors to thoroughly evaluate regional centers and project credentials, including documented track records, history of lawsuits, project completion rates, capital returns, and reliance on EB-5 funding for project completion.
Highlighting the advantages of EB-5, Mr. Fishkin noted that it is self-sponsored, meaning applicants do not need an employer or job offer, unlike other employment-based categories such as EB-2 or EB-3. This independence provides investors greater control over their immigration process.
With U.S. immigration policies tightening under President Donald Trump’s administration, many Indians are increasingly turning to the “Invest in the U.S. and Get a Green Card” initiative officially known as the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
The scheme, open to Indian citizens and other non-immigrants, offers a government-backed route to live and work permanently in the United States through investment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subba Raju Pericherla and Mr. Sampann Malhotra, Partners at EB5ive Immigration Services, explained that obtaining permanent residency in the U.S. has become increasingly complex for foreign nationals.
The EB-5 program, they said, provides a structured and legitimate pathway for qualified investors and their families to achieve that goal.
