365telugu.com online news,20,october,2025:Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently shared a hilarious yet concerning encounter with an online impostor pretending to be Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa. The fake Zampa contacted Ashwin via WhatsApp, asking for the personal contact numbers of several Indian players.
Ashwin took to Instagram to expose the impersonator, posting a screenshot of the chat with the caption: “Fake Adam Zampa tries to strike.” The post quickly went viral for Ashwin’s witty and composed responses.

According to the conversation, the impersonator requested contact details of players including Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube. Ashwin initially played along, humorously asking if that list was enough. Then, turning the tables, he asked whether the person had MS Dhoni’s number. When the fake Zampa claimed he did, Ashwin cheekily requested Dhoni’s number in return.
The chat ended on a funny note — when the impersonator repeated his request, Ashwin replied that he was “compiling everything in Excel.”
Interestingly, this wasn’t Ashwin’s first brush with an impostor. In a similar past incident, someone pretending to be Devon Conway, his Chennai Super Kings teammate, had messaged him asking for Virat Kohli’s number. Realizing it was fake, Ashwin decided to respond with a made-up contact.
With scams like these becoming common, Ashwin’s sharp humour and awareness once again proved that he can bowl googlies both on and off the field.
