365telugu.com online news,India, 27 November, 2025:Mahindra Racing has officially confirmed its continuation as a manufacturer in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship through the groundbreaking GEN4 era, starting with Season 13 (2026/27) and extending until at least 2030.
The announcement was made today in India during the global unveil of the team’s new Mahindra M12Electro challenger for the upcoming Season 12.
Since becoming a founding team and the first OEM to join Formula E at its launch in 2013, Mahindra Racing has established itself as one of the championship’s most consistent and successful outfits: 5 E-Prix wins, 29 podiums, 11 pole positions, and over 1,000 championship points in just 11 seasons.

The past 18 months have marked a dramatic turnaround under CEO and Team Principal Frederic Bertrand. From the back of the grid, the team transformed into regular podium contenders with the Mahindra M11Electro in Season 11, securing five podiums and a strong fourth place in the teams’ standings with drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara.
Today’s launch of the M12Electro signals Mahindra’s intent to fight for regular podiums and a top-five finish in Season 12, while laying the foundation for a genuine title challenge in the GEN4 era.
The FIA and Formula E recently revealed full GEN4 technical regulations – a massive leap forward in performance and sustainability:
- 450 kW race power + 600 kW ATTACK MODE
- 700 kW regenerative braking
- Up to 55 kWh usable energy for bolder strategies
- Dual aerodynamic packages (high-downforce qualifying / low-downforce race)
- 100% recyclable materials in car construction

Mahindra Racing will leverage the GEN4 platform to accelerate technology transfer from track to road, aligning with the Mahindra Group’s aggressive sustainability goals. The team remains the only Formula E outfit to hold the FIA’s Three-Star Environmental Accreditation and continues its ‘Planet Positive’ initiative to create measurable impact in communities and the environment.
Frederic Bertrand, CEO & Team Principal, Mahindra Racing, said: “This commitment to GEN4 is a defining moment for Mahindra Racing. We have rebuilt, restructured, and delivered results. Now, with the M12Electro and the revolutionary GEN4 car on the horizon, we are ready to fight at the front against the world’s best manufacturers and bring the World Championship to India.”
With Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, and other global giants already confirmed for GEN4, Mahindra Racing’s long-term pledge reinforces Formula E’s status as the pinnacle of electric racing and India’s growing influence in global motorsport.
