Expansion of Local Production in Coimbatore
In a move reinforcing its “local for local” strategy, the ZF Group announced plans to extend the local production of transmissions and axles for construction equipment out of its newly inaugurated plant in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The state-of-the-art facility, which was inaugurated in June 2025 and spans 10,000 square meters, is a critical component of ZF’s strategy, emphasizing ‘Make in India for India and the World.’ The company has invested €20 million (₹192 Crores as of early 2025) in this plant to localize world-class technologies for the evolving construction equipment and railway sectors.

Wheel Loader Technology: Showcasing ERGOPOWER powershift transmissions and MULTITRAC rigid axles. The transmissions offer optional Efficiency Packages, delivering up to 15% fuel savings and up to 40% productivity gains by ensuring smooth shifting and minimal tractive effort disruption.
Backhoe Loader Solutions: Benefiting from the combined ERGOPOWER and MULTITRAC systems, which provide robust performance and precision for continuous digging and loading cycles.
Concrete Mixer Drives: Featuring the ECOMIX I hydrostatic drum drives, known for proven reliability, high power density, and long service life under demanding conditions.
Intelligent Braking Portfolio: Highlighting hydraulic and electrohydraulic braking systems, including a new brake-by-wire solution.
