365telugu.com online news,Hyderabad, December 9, 2025: Veteran actor Dr. Rajasekhar has sustained a serious leg injury while shooting for his upcoming film, necessitating urgent and complex surgery. The incident occurred on November 25th during an action sequence on the film’s set in Medchal.
The actor suffered a right ankle bimalleolar dislocation with a compound fracture, a severe injury typically resulting from high-impact trauma, according to sources from the film unit. He was immediately rushed for medical evaluation, where doctors recommended urgent surgical intervention.
Dr. Rajasekhar subsequently underwent a major, nearly three-hour-long surgery. The procedure, known as open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF), involved:
Fixation of the lateral malleolus using K-wires.
Fixation of the medial malleolus using cannulated cancellous screws and a semi-tubular plate.

Trans-fixation of the tibia using a wire passed through the calcaneum and talus.
Despite the complexity of the procedure, the surgery was successful, and the actor is now in recovery.
Recovery and Filming Schedule
Doctors have advised Dr. Rajasekhar to observe three to four weeks of strict rest to ensure the crucial initial healing of his injured leg remains undisturbed and immobile. Consequently, the actor will be off film sets for the immediate future. He is tentatively expected to resume shooting schedules in January 2026, pending his full recovery.
This is not the first time Dr. Rajasekhar has faced a significant injury while working on a project; he suffered a similar left-leg injury on November 15, 1989, during the filming of Magadu.
Dr. Rajasekhar’s upcoming project is titled Biker, and he is currently involved in two additional untitled films. Their shooting schedules are now likely to be adjusted based on his recovery timeline.
The film fraternity, along with his fans and well-wishers, has been sending an outpouring of prayers for his speedy and complete recovery.
