365telugu.com online news,delhi,april 4th,2022:The Government has approved the initiative of setting up of 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership with NGOs/Private Schools/State Governments starting from Class 6 onwards. Unlike existing Sainik Schools which are purely residential in nature, the new approved Sainik Schools can have day school and/or residential school arrangements. These new Sainik Schools, besides their affiliation to respective education boards, will function under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society and will follow the rules and regulations for New Sainik Schools in partnership mode prescribed by the Sainik Schools Society.

In addition to their regular affiliated board curriculum, they will be required to follow the Academic Plus curriculum, similar to that in existing Sainik Schools which includes value-based curriculum and activities training in life skills, NCC and sports to develop the ethos of national spirit, indomitable courage, unfailing commitment to values of respect for country and society.

The Schools will be run and managed by concerned NGOs/Private/State Government Schools, however, Government of India will provide an annual fee support to the Students under New Sainik School pattern, on Merit-Cum-Means, of up to 50% fee (subject to an upper limit of Rs 40,000/- per student per annum) for up to 50% of class strength (subject to an upper limit of 50 students per class per annum) for the approved school.

In this regard, Assam and other North-eastern states have been provisionally allotted a quota of New Sainik School(s) as under:
