365Telugu.com online news,Hyderabad, April 21, 2025: Bharti Airtel has strengthened its efforts in the fight against spam by announcing major enhancements to its AI-powered SPAM detection system. This move follows the platform’s successful identification of over 27.5 billion spam calls since its launch in September 2024.

In a bid to provide a more personalized and effective solution, Airtel has introduced SPAM call and SMS alerts in ten Indian languages—Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, and Urdu. These vernacular alerts will be available to Android users, making it easier for customers across India to recognize spam in their native language. Airtel plans to extend support to more languages in future updates.

Additionally, the AI system has been upgraded to screen and flag international spam calls and SMS messages, addressing a sharp 12% rise in overseas spam over the past six months. As domestic spam detection improved, fraudsters increasingly used foreign networks to bypass filters—Airtel’s new upgrade aims to shut down this loophole.

Siddharth Sharma, Director of Marketing and CEO – Connected Homes, Bharti Airtel, stated, “Customer feedback drives our innovation. Recognizing the shift of SPAM activity to international networks and India’s linguistic diversity, we’ve expanded our AI capabilities accordingly. Our engineers and data scientists are committed to keeping customers safe from fraudulent communication.”

The features will be automatically activated for all Airtel users without the need for a service request. The entire service remains free of cost.

Since its launch, Airtel’s anti-SPAM tool has not only flagged billions of SPAM calls but also reduced spam calls by 16%, significantly improving user experience.
