This International Women’s Day, the Bank recognizes the remarkable efforts of women business correspondents (BCs) who are playing a crucial role in bringing banking services to underserved communities.

At a special event in Hyderabad, Airtel Payments Bank honored top-performing women BCs from Telangana. The event was graced by Retired IAS Officer Mr. Chiranjeevulu Togarla, who motivated and inspired the women BCs with his words of encouragement.

Airtel Payments Bank operates India’s largest banking network, with over 500,000 neighborhood banking points across the country. These points are managed by trained business correspondents, who provide critical banking services to rural and remote areas.

In Telangana, the Bank works with nearly 15,000 BCs, out of which over 3,000 are women. Notably, more than 80% of these women operate in unbanked and underbanked regions, ensuring financial access for communities that previously lacked banking infrastructure.

Recognizing Women BCs for Their Outstanding Contributions

During the event, Airtel Payments Bank felicitated five exceptional women BCs who went above and beyond to serve their communities. The awardees were:
Dannina Veena Kumari
Arelli Navya
Bommidi Kavita
Vemulapally Sowjanya
Donthula Divya Sree

These women have been instrumental in providing essential banking services, including account openings, cash withdrawals, money transfers, bill payments, and insurance services, making banking more accessible for thousands of individuals.
