He acknowledged that his deep commitment to racing has often kept him away from home, with his wife Shalini taking on most family responsibilities in his absence.
Ajith admitted that this demanding schedule comes at a cost: “The children hardly get to see me, and I miss them as much as they miss me,” he said, expressing the emotional strain of being away from his family.
When asked about his children’s aspirations, Ajith made it clear he has no intention of steering them toward his own professions — whether in cinema or racing. While his son has shown some interest in go-karting, the actor stressed that both his children will have complete freedom to decide their own paths.
Reflecting on his marriage, Ajith credited Shalini — whom he married in 2002 — for maintaining stability at home throughout his film career and motorsport pursuits.
