Google’s parent company Alphabet has revealed that it is preparing to lay off about 10,000 employees, or 6 percent of its workforce.
According to a report by The Information, Google plans to reduce the number of employees through a new ranking and performance improvement plan.
“The new performance management system is preparing to fire thousands of underperforming employees early next year.
Managers are also giving ratings to avoid paying them bonuses and stock grants.
Under the new system, managers will reportedly cut 6 percent of employees, or about 10,000 employees.
