365telugu.com,online news, Hyderabad, October 8th, 2021: Amity University Haryana (AUH) held its 11th annual Innovation Day on September 28, 2021 by showcasing innovations developed by different Amity campuses in the last one year. Some of the innovations presented included Recycled Aggregate Concrete, Nano Breath- Covid-19 Mask, Sequence Batch Reactor and Sewage Treatment Process, Intelligent Traffic Light Control System, and Face Mask Detector using Machine Learning. It also showcased Credit Card Fraud Detection Using ML, Diagnosing Covid-19 from CXR using Explainable AI, and Design and Modelling of Smart Waste Segregation System.
Dr Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group, in his address said, “The pandemic has been challenging but we must now focus on the new opportunities by taking COVID as – Create opportunities via Innovative Determination.” He added: “What we teach in Amity are sanskaras (values) that are embedded in the future-ready professionals that our graduates are. I breathe Innovation, I dream Innovation, and I ensure that our outcome-based research and innovation ecosystem enables us to meet the ever-rising benchmarks of success.”
AUH has 71 R&D and 46 Consultancy projects in the thrust areas of national and global importance. The R&D projects are funded by DST, DBT, ICMR, Ministry of Health, AYUSH, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, BARC, ISRO, and international agencies from Japan, Korea and the EU. AUH has also published more than 5,000 Research Papers, filed 175 patents, contributed 410 book chapters and submitted 449 R&D projects.

Chancellor, Dr Aseem Chauhan, encouraged the scientists at Amity to focus on identifying and solving the compelling problems humankind faces. He asserted: “Amity University is an epitome of higher education that blends modernity with tradition and culture; where science and technology blend harmoniously with performance, progression and innovation.”
The day-long celebration of Amity Innovation Day 2021 was attended by over 4,000 participants including eminent dignitaries such as Padma Vibhushan Prof R Chidambaram, Former Chairman Atomic Energy Commission and Former Principal Scientific Advisor to Govt of India. VCs, Pro VCs, Deans and faculty members, Research Scholars and Inspired Student Innovators from various Amity campuses in great numbers were also present on the occasion. The day ushered a new era of accelerated Innovation and sustained focus on commercialization of IPR making universities as a major partner in progress in Nation’s economic growth.
Prof. B.K. Kuthiala, Chairman, Haryana State Higher Education Council, Govt of Haryana, emphasized on the role of nature and said, “Think, Create, Discover, and Invent is the mantra I want to share with all the young scientists present here. We need to understand that we belong to the universe, the universe doesn’t belong to us.”
Dr Krishna M Ella, CMD, Bharat Biotech International Limited, inspired the young scholars with his speech. He said: “Knowledge is the future. Innovation can boost a country’s GDP and India must work hard to achieve the first position in Innovation. A combination of a good degree, skillset and imagination will help you to become innovative.” “At AUH we pursue research and innovation with a missionary zeal – finding solutions to problems faced by the industry and the society,” Prof. PB Sharma, VC, AUH added.
In a short span of 11 years, Amity University Haryana has emerged as a vibrant hub of creativity and thought leadership in areas such as Big-Data and AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Life Science, Bio-Technology, and Bio-Medical Engineering. It is also spearheading Nano-Science and Technology, Water Technology, Air Pollution Mitigation and Control and a crusader for sustainability, which has earned the young university the honour of being a Platinum Category LEED Certified campus by the US GBC, Prof Sharma added.
