The 62-year-old leader breathed his last on Sunday morning at 5:45 AM while undergoing treatment for kidney and heart-related ailments at AIG Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

Maganti Gopinath, a prominent political figure, had won the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat for three consecutive terms in 2014, 2018, and 2023. Beginning his political journey with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), he later joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and played a key role in advancing the vision of party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Known for his strong connection with the people and grassroots leadership, Gopinath left a lasting impression in the legislative assembly.
His untimely demise has left the people of Jubilee Hills and the political fraternity in deep shock. Condolences are pouring in from party leaders, cadre, and representatives across political lines, who remembered him as a committed and people-centric leader.
According to family sources, the final rites of Maganti Gopinath will be held in Hyderabad. Further details will be shared by the family in due course.
