365telugu.com online news, September 15th,2025: Canon India is marking a three-year milestone in its “Adopt a Village” initiative in Nandrampur Bass, Haryana. The company celebrated the occasion by inaugurating a new rainwater harvesting system to help improve the village’s water resources.
The project is guided by Canon’s “4Es” policy, which focuses on Education, Eye Care, Environment, and Empowerment:
- Education: Over 1,000 students have enrolled in digital learning programs, with some receiving scholarships for quality education at Navodaya School. The village has also been recognized twice by the “My School, Beautiful School” campaign for its efforts in cleanliness and beautification.
- Eye Care: Nearly 4,000 residents have received free eye exams, and 452 pairs of free spectacles have been provided.
- Environment: Regular tree-planting drives have resulted in 1,550 new trees in the village.
- Empowerment: More than 250 people have received skill training in courses like computer literacy, beauty, and tailoring, which has helped them secure jobs. Additionally, new initiatives have been introduced to improve women’s literacy and offer breast cancer awareness screenings.

According to Mr. Toshiaki Nomura, President & CEO of Canon India, the company’s efforts are guided by its philosophy of “Kyosei,” which means “living and working together for the common good.” He noted that the success at Nandrampur Bass demonstrates how consistent effort can lead to self-reliance and significant community development.

In addition to the “Adopt a Village” initiative, Canon also launched a “Skill Development and Livelihood” program last year, which has helped 850 young people from urban slums find jobs, with 450 successfully placed in jobs that have doubled their family income. Since 2012, Canon has adopted 10 villages across India, including Nandrampur Bass, to drive sustainable, long-term development.
