365Telugu.com Online News, September 5th, 2023: The G-20 Summit is going to be held in New Delhi from September 9 to 10. For this, an international exhibition-cum-convention center was constructed at Pragati Maidan. It is named as “Bharata Mandapam”.
This Bharat Mandapam was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26. In fact, there is a big reason behind naming it Bharat Mandapam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was inspired by Basaveshwara Swamy’s ‘Anubhava Mandapam’ which means discussion and dialogue in a democratic manner.
Bharat Mandap Architect Sanjay Singh said that it was built like a window to Delhi. It gives a glimpse of India’s cultural and diverse heritage. In fact, PM Modi’s idea is also behind it. Sanjay Singh disclosed this in an interview given to a news agency.
Bharat Mandapam is the largest convention center in the country. For this, Prime Minister Modi aspired to make it a modern building of Indian values, traditions and culture.

The redevelopment of Pragati Maidan started in 2017. Work for this was done under the National Project. 2,700 crores have been spent for this. 750 crores were spent for the construction of one Bharat Mandapam.
It is spread over about 123 acres. The largest convention center in the country has a seating capacity of 10,000 people. Bharat Mandapam is built on three floors.
The G-20 summit is going to be held here. Imprint of Indian culture is visible on every floor. It is very beautifully decorated. Indian traditional diversity, art, multicultural heritage is visible everywhere in every room.
A hall was also constructed in the Bharat Mandapam to comfortably seat 7,000 people. It is one of the largest halls in the world, much larger than the Opera House of Sydney (Australia). Another great feature of Bharat Mandapam is that it also has an open amphitheater.
It can seat more than 3 thousand people at a time. The total area of Bharat Mandap is 26 times larger than a football stadium. VIP lounges have also been built in Bharat Mandap.
It is built on three floors with different features. In fact, it is prepared for conferences, meetings and exhibitions.
On the first floor, there are rooms with modern facilities for meetings, which can be used in a variety of ways. There are 18 large rooms on this floor. It also has a VIP lounge.
The second floor of the Bharat Mandapam is also grand and attractive. It has two modern halls. A large lounge area has also been made here. It is so large that it can also be used as a summit room.
The third floor of the Bharat Mandapam has a seating capacity of seven thousand people at a time. While there is a large hall that can seat 4 thousand people, there is an amphitheater on the third floor which can seat 3 thousand people.
4000 large vehicles can be parked here in the underground parking and 1000 vehicles can be easily parked in the ground parking.
Beautiful hand-made carpets by famous artisans of India are laid here. Kashmiri carpets were placed on the stage of the G-20 summit. After the G-20 Summit, the Bharat Mandap will be opened for common citizens.
