365telugu.com online news,September,29,2025:India’s thrilling Asia Cup 2025 victory over Pakistan turned into a dramatic off-field controversy. Reports claim that PCB chairman and ACC president Mohsin Naqvi removed the trophy and medals after Indian players refused to receive them from his hands.

Instead of celebrating with the official trophy, the Indian team held an “imaginary trophy” celebration on the field. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma openly criticized the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) during the post-match press conference.

🎯 Match Ends in Glory, Chaos Follows

Tilak Verma’s unbeaten 69 powered India to a memorable win, but the post-match proceedings quickly descended into chaos. While the Indian players remained on the field for interviews and celebrations, the Pakistan team retreated to their dressing room for nearly an hour.

The presentation ceremony was repeatedly delayed as ACC officials struggled to proceed amid mounting tensions.

Trophy Standoff

According to reports, the Indian camp requested that Emirates Board vice-chair Khalid Al Zarooni hand over the trophy instead of Naqvi. That proposal was rejected, and Naqvi allegedly instructed officials to remove the trophy altogether.

This followed weeks of tension, as India had already declined handshakes with Pakistan during the tournament and even skipped the customary pre-toss photo.

When Naqvi approached the podium, Indian fans booed and chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” while Pakistani stars like Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were jeered. Later, ACC officials asked Bangladesh Cricket Board president Aminul Islam to distribute the runners-up medals, which Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha refused to accept.

Backlash & Reactions

As ACC officials, including Naqvi, exited the stadium, Indian players were left waiting for the trophy. Twice, groundsmen brought out the champions’ signage, only to take it away again.

Hardik Pandya was first to mount the podium, taking selfies, as the team mimicked trophy celebrations without an actual cup.

Speaking later, Suryakumar Yadav blasted the ACC: “I have never seen a champion team being denied a trophy, that too a hard-earned one.”

Abhishek Sharma added with a smile: “We actually got one — Surya bhai brought it! We felt it, we knew its weight.”

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha defended the situation, remarking: “If he (Naqvi) is the ACC president, then he will only give the trophy. If you don’t want to take it from him, how will you get it?”

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia called the incident “unfortunate and unsportsmanlike,” stressing that India could not accept a trophy from a representative of a hostile nation. He confirmed the BCCI will raise the issue at the upcoming ICC conference.
