Google’s artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot Bard cost Google $120 billion. Ever since the mistake was caught, Google’s market value has been steadily declining. Google parent company Alphabet hit a low on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Alphabet traded at $106.77 a share, down from $98.08 on Wednesday. In this, a decline of about 8.1 percent was recorded. This was the biggest one-day fall in Alphabet’s value since October 2022.
Earlier, Google shares fell nine percent in a day after the company revealed a big slowdown in sales and profit growth.

In fact this week Google launched its new AI chatbot Bard. Google has released a promotional video for this. In it (Bard) asked ‘What to tell a nine-year-old about the new discovery of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST)?’
To this, Bard, an artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbot, answers in three points.
- In 2023 JWST will detect several galaxies and name them ‘Green Peace’. So named because they (galaxies) are very small, spherical, and green in color, like peas.
- Telescope captures image of galaxy 13 billion years old. The James Webb Space Telescope used the first photograph of a planet outside the Milky Way.
- Bard’s third point turns out to be wrong. Reuters caught it. As soon as Reuters revealed this, Google’s market value began to fall. People have started questioning Google’s AI chatbot.

Reuters quoted NASA. In the year 2004, the European Advance Telescope Space Exoplanets Southern Observatory said it had taken photographs of exoplanets.
The exoplanet is called 2M1207b. It is five times larger than Jupiter. It is 170 light years away from Earth. Experts say mistakes generated by artificial intelligence systems are not easily caught.

Recently the name of AI chatbot is also heard more and more. After OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT, Google announced its AI chatbot BARD. The word chatbots means chat+bot.
