365Telugu.com online news, Hyderabad, December 4th, 2024: His Excellency Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, paid a visit to the Mahila Dakshata Samithi (MDS) Educational Institutions, an esteemed organization known for its decades-long dedication to empowering women through education and social service. Established with the mission to uplift women, particularly from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, MDS has been at the forefront of social transformation in the region.
The occasion was graced by several dignitaries, including Bijay Mandhani, Chairman of MBG Group, Vinod K Agarwal, IAS (Retd.), Prakash Goenka, Industrialist and Trustee of MDS, Vijay Kumarswamy, Senior Program Manager at Google Maps, Smt. Aruna Malani, Secretary of MDS, and trustees Jaya Baheti and Raj Shri Jain.
During the event, the Governor honored outstanding students with mementoes in recognition of their academic excellence:
- K. Sai Satya Veni – Secured the State 2nd Rank in the BIE March 2024 exams.
- Shruthi – Secured 1st position in the Degree final year.
- Aleyamma Sara – Secured 1st place in B.Sc Nursing.
- B. Niharika and G. Madhavi – Recognized for their participation in the National Level Yoga Championship.
In his speech, Jishnu Dev Varma, the Governor of Telangana, praised MDS for its impactful work, emphasizing that the organization has been transforming lives by empowering young girls through education and holistic development. He noted that MDS, under the leadership of Dr. Saroj Bajaj, has provided opportunities to thousands of girls, including orphans, daughters of single parents, and children from economically disadvantaged families.
MDS’s initiatives, including the Suman Nilayam Hostel, are not just focused on academics but also on fostering confidence, resilience, and self-reliance. The Governor referred to Swami Vivekananda’s vision of improving the condition of women as essential for global welfare and acknowledged that MDS has empowered over 10,000 students, many of whom have succeeded in careers across various sectors like healthcare, technology, and banking.
The Governor also highlighted the upcoming Nirmala Goenka Girls Hostel, which is set to provide more support to these young women in achieving their aspirations. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, he said, “If you educate a woman, you educate an entire family,” and emphasized that MDS is a shining example of this truth, contributing to the creation of a more equitable society.
On the occasion, Dr. Saroj Bajaj, President of MDS, expressed her pride in the organization’s ongoing mission to empower women through education. She reflected on MDS’s four-decade-long commitment to providing opportunities that help girls excel and become leaders in society. Dr. Bajaj thanked the Governor for his visit and recognition of the organization’s efforts to bring about positive change in the community.
