Google is constantly updating its Messenger app (Google Messages) with new features. Google has now enabled end-to-end encryption for group chats in Google Messages. That means, now users can enjoy group chat on Google Message, a social media platform like WhatsApp.
It encrypts users’ chats to keep them private and secure. This means that after Google encrypts the messages, only the sending and receiving users can see these messages. Earlier Google rolled out emoji reaction facility on text messages.
Google has rolled out end-to-end encryption for group chats for messages to users as part of a beta project. This feature helps users send one-to-one text messages using the Messages app.
They are encrypted to keep them private and secure. To recall, Google first announced E2EE support for group chats in 2022 at its I/O event in May.
According to a 9to5Google report, the company said it completed the group chat end-to-end encryption rollout for users in open beta in just over a month. The company will make an open beta program available to select users in the coming weeks.
An emoji reaction in a text message
Meanwhile, Google has begun testing full emoji reactions on its Messages platform, allowing users to respond to any text message with an emoji. Thumbs up, heart eye, shocking, laughing, crying and angry emojis are available for emoji reaction.
It is like WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram emoji reaction. Currently, some beta users are getting this reaction emoji in Google Messages. But soon it will be released for everyone.
Along with the emoji reaction, the menu also appears. Many emojis can be selected by clicking on it.
