365telugu.com Online News, Hyderabad, July 30, 2025: HDFC ERGO General Insurance, one of India’s leading private sector general insurers, successfully concluded the grand finale of the first edition of Insurance Quiz Senior, a nationwide quiz competition for undergraduate students aimed at fostering insurance awareness among the youth.
Following the tremendous success of its school-level initiative Insurance Quiz Junior over the past nine years—engaging over 25 lakh students—HDFC ERGO launched Insurance Quiz Senior in 2025 to target college students. This first edition saw participation from over 1100 students representing 444 colleges across 140+ cities.
Commenting on the initiative, Anuj Tyagi, MD & CEO of HDFC ERGO, stated:
“A recent survey revealed that 44% of Gen Z avoid purchasing health insurance due to lack of awareness. Through the Insurance Quiz Senior, we aim to bridge this knowledge gap and empower young adults to make informed financial and insurance decisions as they step into their careers.”
The quiz kicked off with 579 teams in preliminary rounds, followed by zonal competitions across North, South, East, and West India. The top team from each zone, along with one wildcard entry, advanced to the national grand finale.

The final showdown featured five top teams, and after a thrilling contest, Anshul Kumar Thakur and Chaitanya Prabhakar from Ramjas College, Delhi University, were crowned national champions.
First runner-up was the team from BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus, while second runner-up honors went to students from The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT), Jaipur.
Prizes included ₹1.5 lakh for the winners, ₹1 lakh for the first runner-up, and ₹50,000 for the second runner-up, along with paid internships at HDFC ERGO. Additionally, all finalists received the opportunity to tour a top tech company’s office in Mumbai.
The quiz was hosted by popular comedian and quizmaster Kumar Varun, adding excitement and energy to the grand finale.
