365telugu.com online news, Hyderabad, march 7th,2022:Ever since the trailer release of SonyLIV’s riveting crime thriller Undekhi 2, audiences have been waiting eagerly for the show’s launch. The second season promises a lot more drama and action, as old and new characters come toegther to revolt against the Atwals’ terror.
Apeksha Porwal who plays the role of Koyal in the show recalls her experience of playing a raw character, and how she prepared for it. Releasing on 4 th March on SonyLIV, Undekhi 2takes ahead its story of power, revenge, and survival, from right where it ended in the first season.
To prepare for her role of a vengeful, oppressed woman,Apeksha immersed herself in perfecting the nuances of the character. Getting into the zone of Koyal, right from understanding the background that she comes from to internally reflecting on her journey to physically being prepped to pull off the high-impact action scenes herself, was important for Apeksha to be able to authentically play the part on screen.
She said, ‘The most important thing was to make sure the action was raw and coming from a place of burning rage rather than skill. My character Koyal knows how to defend herself using her bare hands or just a log of wood because of the circumstances she grew up in, and not because she was trained – so it was important for me to physically embody those
characteristics so that the same transpired on screen. I worked on the body language, on the Bengali accent, and I had no make-up on. As for the stunts, I did all of them by myself, there was no stunt double involved. The action team under the guidance of our action director, Raj Shinde, helped immensely with the trainings, making it all look so seamless.’
Starring Surya Sharma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harsh Chhaya, Apeksha Porwal, Anchal Sharma, Nandish Sandhu and Meiyang Chang, Undekhi Season 2 is produced by Applause entertainment in association with Banijay Asia. The show has been directed by Ashish R Shukla.
