365Telugu.com Online News, Delhi, February 25th, 2023: WhatsApp has more than 550 million users in India, 95 percent of whom suffering from fake spam calls. This has been revealed in a recent survey conducted by Local Circle. 76 percent of the respondents said that spam calls and spam messages have increased significantly in the last few months.
There were 12,215 WhatsApp users in this survey and 76 percent of them responded. Users reported receiving spam and promotional messages based on their activity on Facebook and Instagram. In this survey, 51,000 responses were received from 351 cities of the country.
A company conducted a survey from 1st to 20th February 2023. 95 percent of WhatsApp users surveyed receive spam calls and messages at least once every day, while 41 percent said they receive 4 or more spam calls a day.

In the report, the survey company said that such calls and messages are coming from the WhatsApp business account. Responding to the report, a Meta spokesperson said that WhatsApp has systems in place that allow WhatsApp to quickly disable a business account from sending. If a business receives persistent negative feedback, business access to that account will be removed, he added.

92 percent people are bothered by unwanted calls even after DND is on. A few days ago, LocalCircle also released a report on telemarketing in which 92 percent of mobile users say they are bothered by telemarketing calls on a daily basis,
which is why these users avail Do Not Disturb (DND) service. As per the LocalCircle survey report, 78 percent of the respondents said that they get more calls from financial services and real estate people. The survey included 11,157 mobile users, 66 percent of whom said they receive at least three telemarketing calls every day.
