365telugu.com online news,HYDERABAD, December 23, 2025:Agasthi Chandrasekhar, India’s pioneering BMX racer, has further solidified his standing on the global stage by finishing 4th out of 48 elite riders at the prestigious USA Grand Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The 16-year-old athlete’s performance (November 26–30) marks a historic milestone for Indian cycling, bringing “global podium momentum” to a country where the sport is still in its infancy.
Overcoming Infrastructure Challenges
Agasthi’s success is particularly remarkable given the lack of professional BMX infrastructure in India. With no international-standard race tracks currently available in the country, Agasthi maintains a grueling global schedule:
- Training Hubs: Splits time between Nilai (Malaysia), Las Vegas (USA), and Hyderabad.
- Global Coaching: He is mentored by Connor Fields, the 2016 Rio Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion.
- Domestic Support: In India, he utilizes the pump track at Wallride Park, Hyderabad, supported by local coaches and the Cycling Federation of India (CFI).
“It was a moment of great pride to represent India on such a big stage and win a medal for the country,” said Agasthi. “The acknowledgement from the international community fuels my drive toward the ultimate goal.”
A Season of Dominance
The 4th-place finish in Tulsa crowns an exceptional 2025 season for the young rider:
- Arizona Nationals (Oct-Nov): 4 Gold medals and 1 Silver across five races.
- Nevada State Championships (Oct): Gold medalist.
- Colorado/Las Vegas Circuit (Sept): Multiple club race victories.
The Road to Brisbane 2032
Agasthi first made history in February 2023 as the first Indian to win a BMX Racing medal (Silver at the Malaysian BMX Nationals). Since then, his trajectory has been aimed squarely at the Olympic Games. His parents, Chandrasekhar and Anupa, noted that the journey is a collective effort, praising Mr. Maninder Singh (Secretary General, CFI) for ensuring seamless international transitions .

With a dedicated high-performance team spanning nutrition, psychology, and physical therapy, Agasthi’s foundation is now set for a long-term campaign: winning Gold at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
