365telugu.com online news,New Delhi, October 18th, 2025: IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has signed an agreement with Airbus to confirm a firm order for 30 additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, converting part of its 70 purchase rights secured earlier. This move doubles IndiGo’s wide-body order from 30 to 60 A350-900s, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the IATA AGM in New Delhi in June 2025.
In April 2024, IndiGo placed its first wide-body order for 30 A350-900s, retaining purchase rights for 70 more. With this latest confirmation, 40 purchase rights remain for future expansion. The A350-900s, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, offer superior fuel efficiency and reliability, enabling IndiGo to pursue long-haul routes with enhanced operational flexibility.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, stated, “This firm order for 30 additional A350-900s underscores our commitment to expanding IndiGo’s global presence and enhancing connectivity for our customers. It aligns with India’s ambition to become a global aviation hub and our goal to be a leading player by 2030. These aircraft will enable us to connect India to new international destinations, offering unparalleled travel experiences.”

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales at Airbus Commercial Aircraft, added, “The A350’s efficiency, range, and comfort are ideal for IndiGo’s long-haul ambitions. We’re proud to support one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines in expanding its global network.”
IndiGo’s internationalization strategy, “Towards New Heights, Across New Frontiers,” includes recent launches of direct flights to Manchester and Amsterdam, with Copenhagen, London, and Athens planned next, using leased Boeing 787-9s and upcoming A321XLRs. The A350-900s will further enable routes to the Americas and other long-haul markets.
With India as the world’s third-largest aviation market and a national push to develop it into a global hub, IndiGo’s fleet of over 400 aircraft and an order book of nearly 900—including A320NEO, A321NEO, and A321XLR—positions it to drive this vision forward.
