365Telugu.com online news,National, July 3rd, 2025: IndiGo, India’s preferred airline, has taken another significant step in its international expansion with the launch of direct flights between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. This marks IndiGo’s second long-haul route, following the successful start of its Manchester services yesterday.

The new service reinforces IndiGo’s internationalisation strategy, “Towards New Heights and across New Frontiers,” and reflects the airline’s ambition to become a truly global carrier while strengthening India’s footprint on the world aviation map.

The new Mumbai–Amsterdam service will operate three times a week, using IndiGo’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Schiphol, one of Europe’s busiest and most connected airports, will serve as a vital gateway, giving IndiGo passengers convenient access to Europe, North America, and Canada, while seamlessly connecting to IndiGo’s expansive domestic network of over 90 destinations across India.

Commenting on the launch, Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo, said:

“We are thrilled to spread our wings further in Europe by introducing the Mumbai–Amsterdam route, connecting India to the world. Our commitment is to provide customers with an enhanced, seamless travel experience at great value.

This new route will boost connectivity for leisure, business, and student travellers while deepening India–Netherlands ties across culture, trade, and diplomacy. With the support of Schiphol Airport and our local partners, we look forward to offering a hassle-free and enjoyable journey to our customers.”

The airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners (damp-leased from Norse Atlantic Airways) feature a spacious double-aisle layout. The IndiGoStretch cabin offers 56 seats in a comfortable 2x3x2 configuration with 43-inch seat pitch, while economy class provides 282 seats in a 3x3x3 layout with a generous 31-inch pitch.
