The airline announced the addition of five more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in the current financial year through its damp-lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways. This fleet expansion will empower IndiGo to launch new international routes while strengthening its existing long-haul network.
New Daily Direct Flights to London Heathrow
Starting October 26, 2025 (subject to regulatory approvals), IndiGo will operate daily direct flights to London Heathrow using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Bookings for this exciting new route will open shortly, providing passengers with seamless connectivity between India and the UK.
IndiGoStretch Introduced on Dubai and Singapore Routes
IndiGo continues to enhance passenger experience by rolling out its premium business offering — IndiGoStretch — on select international routes. From August 9, 2025, IndiGoStretch will be available on flights connecting Singapore to Delhi and Mumbai aboard the airline’s two-class A321 aircraft. Additionally, IndiGoStretch will launch on Delhi–Dubai flights starting August 30, and on Mumbai–Dubai flights beginning September 3.

Robust Growth and Expanding Network
In just 19 years, IndiGo has emerged as India’s largest airline, operating a fleet of 400+ aircraft serving over 90 domestic and 40+ international destinations. The airline recently launched long-haul international flights linking Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam and signed MOUs with global giants like Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic to deepen partnerships connecting India with Europe and North America.
IndiGo further strengthened its international reach by enhancing alliances with KLM and Japan Airlines and entering a codeshare agreement with Jetstar, expanding one-stop connectivity to 14 destinations across Australia and New Zealand.
Fleet Expansion and New Destinations
As part of its internationalisation strategy, IndiGo converted purchase rights for 30 Airbus A350 aircraft into firm orders, bringing its total wide-body aircraft order to 60. Plans are underway to launch flights to Copenhagen, Athens, Siem Reap, and add four Central Asian destinations within FY26.

Domestically, IndiGo added Adampur (Jalandhar, Punjab) and Hindon (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh) airports to its network and announced imminent operations from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport with over 18 daily departures serving 15+ cities. The airline also signed an MOU with Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) to develop Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) infrastructure supporting its growing fleet.
Fleet Age and Performance
IndiGo boasts the world’s youngest aircraft fleet (average age 4.9 years) among airlines operating 100+ aircraft, as recognized by ch-aviation. The airline also consistently leads the DGCA on-time performance reports, maintaining a strong record of punctuality month after month.
