365telugu.com online news,September 15th,2025: IndiGo is set to expand its international network with a new, direct route between India and Athens, Greece. Starting in January 2026, the airline will operate six weekly flights from both Delhi and Mumbai to Athens.

This new route will be the first to use India’s new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, which IndiGo is scheduled to receive by the end of 2025. This makes IndiGo the only Indian carrier offering direct connectivity to Greece.

The A321XLR aircraft is a long-range, narrow-body plane that will allow IndiGo to reach new destinations in Europe while keeping costs down. It has a range of up to 8,700 km, making nonstop flights to Southern Europe possible. The planes will offer an elevated cabin experience, including IndiGoStretch, which provides extra legroom and in-flight entertainment.

This new route is expected to boost both business and leisure travel between India and Greece, supporting a growing market for tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and destination weddings.

According to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, the new connection is a strategic move that aligns with India’s growing economy and tourism industry.
