These appointments are designed to strengthen the bank’s leadership framework, enhance operational capabilities, and expand its footprint in critical business segments, aligning with its vision for sustainable value creation.
The new leadership appointments at IndusInd Bank include:
Mr. Viral Damania – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Viral Damania, a seasoned finance expert with over 27 years of experience in global financial services, joins as Chief Financial Officer. His expertise includes controllership, business planning, corporate treasury, treasury product control, and audits.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Cost & Works Accountant, Mr. Damania also holds an ISACA certification in Information Systems and Audit and Control. Previously, he served as CFO for Bank of America India, overseeing the bank’s branch entity and BofA Securities India Ltd.,
and was a non-executive director on the latter’s board. His prior roles include leadership positions at Citibank N.A. across India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, as well as Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Mr. Anand Vardhan – General Counsel
Mr. Anand Vardhan, a legal professional with over 26 years of experience, assumes the role of General Counsel. His expertise spans legal documentation, dispute resolution, stressed asset management, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships.
He has held senior leadership roles at Piramal Group, SUN-Apollo Ventures, HDFC Property Fund, ICICI Bank, and Tata Housing, bringing extensive experience in navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes.
Ms. Pragati Gondhalekar – Head, Internal Audit
Ms. Pragati Gondhalekar, with over 27 years of global audit and consulting experience in financial services, joins as Head of Internal Audit. She brings deep expertise in strategic audit leadership, regulatory compliance, risk management, digital transformation, and board governance.
Previously, she was Country Head – Group Audit, India at Deutsche Bank and held leadership roles at L&T Financial Services, PwC, and other prominent organizations. She is a Chartered Accountant (India and Canada), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the USA.
Mr. Pankaj Sharma – Head, Business Transformation
Mr. Pankaj Sharma, a seasoned banker with over 25 years of experience in financial services, will lead the bank’s business transformation initiatives. Specializing in digital banking, payments, and transformation strategies, he previously served as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Yes Bank and held leadership roles at Axis Bank, RBL Bank, and ICICI Group. His focus will be on driving scalable and sustainable growth across IndusInd Bank.
Ms. Sheran Mehra – Chief Marketing Officer
Ms. Sheran Mehra, a marketing veteran with over 27 years of experience, joins as Chief Marketing Officer. She has a proven track record of driving consumer growth and digital transformation for global brands.
Most recently, she served as Chief Business Officer at Tata Digital, where she led the launch and scaling of Tata Neu, India’s first super-app, and drove acquisition and loyalty initiatives.
She has also held senior roles at DBS Bank, Barclays, HSBC, and Ogilvy.These strategic appointments strengthen IndusInd Bank’s leadership team, enhancing its ability to deliver innovative financial solutions, improve operational efficiency, and create lasting value for customers and stakeholders.
