It represents a monumental academic effort, featuring 102 chapters authored by a diverse group of 192 contributors, including government officials, academics, and grassroots activists.

Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Fieldwork
The launch event, held on December 22, 2025, highlighted the necessity of moving beyond theoretical frameworks to understand how development policies function on the ground. The volumes provide a “multidimensional roadmap” for the future of social and economic governance in India.

Key thematic areas covered in the volumes include:

Rural Prosperity: Analyzing livelihood interventions and their transformative impact on rural communities.

Climate Action: Exploring the intersection of environmental justice and climate vulnerability.

Institutional Reform: Reimagining collaborative pathways to improve social development.

Human Well-being: Focusing on evidence-based strategies to enhance quality of life across diverse sectors.

During the unveiling, Professor Ashwini Chhatre, Executive Director of BIPP, emphasized that the institute is dedicated to providing rigorous, peer-reviewed knowledge to combat misinformation. He noted that the initiative seeks to empower decision-makers with data-driven insights that are accessible through open-access platforms.

Professor Anjal Prakash, Research Director at BIPP, noted that the collection successfully links different sectors, showing how institutional strength, climate resilience, and livelihoods are deeply interconnected.

Amarjeet Sinha (IAS Retd.), a senior fellow and volume editor, described the launch as the start of a “non-political coalition” dedicated to human well-being and reasoned policy discussion.

High-Level Discussions
The launch featured a series of thematic panels and distinguished guest speakers, including former government secretaries and prominent emeritus professors. The discussions centered on how these microstudies can be translated into actionable policies to solve real-world challenges in both urban and rural India.

The event saw attendance from over 250 stakeholders, marking a significant milestone in India’s public policy research landscape.
