365Telugu.com online news, December 5th, 2024:Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, in collaboration with the Indian Navy, has launched the “Ride of the Marakkars” motorcycle rally to commemorate India’s rich maritime heritage and naval strength.

This special event began on December 2nd from INS Kunjali in Mumbai, featuring a convoy of 22 motorcycles led by senior Indian Navy officers. This rally marks a significant moment, as BSA Motorcycles joins the trusted fleet of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles for the first time.

The rally, spanning 1,580 kilometers over 10 days, will journey through key locations, including Pune, Satara, Dapoli, Ratnagiri, and Goa, before concluding on December 11th at the starting point. As the motorcycles traverse the western coastline, they will champion national pride, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Part of Navy Week celebrations, the “Ride of the Marakkars” honors India’s maritime legacy and the revered Kunjali Marakkars. Over 10 days, 24 sea warriors from the Western Naval Command will explore the scenic Konkan coast, visiting historic maritime landmarks and engaging with local communities.

The initiative highlights patriotism, environmental sustainability, and the Navy’s role in fostering unity and fitness across India through tree plantation programs and outreach initiatives.

Community Engagement and Education As part of the journey, the convoy will participate in several community-focused activities, including:

  • Educational visits to schools and colleges in five cities
  • Career guidance sessions, offering insights into Indian Navy opportunities
  • Tree plantation efforts at major stopovers
  • Interactive sessions at historical naval sites
