365Telugu.com online news,Vijayawada, 25th January 2024: Andhra Pradesh CM Shri Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated 164 Jio4G towers set up by Reliance Jio.
In an event organised on Thursday at his Camp Office, CM has virtually launched 164 cell towers set up in Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) and Parvathipuram Manyam districts.
Under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) project, Jio in partnership with AP State Government, has set up these towers to extend 4G services to the remotest areas of the state.
roject. With the launch of the new towers, the total number of Jio towers under USOF reached 264 mark. CM interacted with the tribals of these areas through video conference.
Jio is ready to set up more towers under this project across the state. The Government has already allotted 2,887 places for this purpose and has prepared activities for setting up towers in all areas.
Once completed, Government expects to provide 4G services to almost 5,549 remote villages across the State.
AP IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath, Chief Secretary Dr. K S Jawahar Reddy, IT Secretary Kona Sasidhar, Jio Andhra Pradesh CEO Mandapalli Mahesh Kumar and other representatives attend the event.
