365Telugu.com online news,Mumbai, May 6th, 2025: The inaugural edition of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) kicked off today at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurating the landmark event. The four-day summit aims to foster dialogue, innovation, and partnerships in the global media and entertainment industry.
One of the key highlights on Day 1 was a special panel discussion featuring Indian cinema legends — Megastar Chiranjeevi, Superstar Rajinikanth, Hema Malini, Mohanlal, and Mithun Chakraborty — moderated by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
During the session, Megastar Chiranjeevi reflected on his early journey into films, tracing his passion for performance back to childhood.
“From a young age, I had a deep love for acting. I used to dance in front of my friends and family, who encouraged me. That passion eventually led me to Chennai to pursue a dream,” he shared.
Chiranjeevi spoke about the challenges he faced entering the Telugu film industry, which already had established icons like NTR, ANR, Krishna, and Shobhan Babu. “I often questioned what unique trait I could bring to the table to stand out as an actor,” he said.

He revealed that stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, and Kamal Haasan played a pivotal role in shaping his acting approach.
“In 1977, while studying acting, I watched Mithun Da’s incredible performance in Mrigayaa. It was so raw and real—it made me want to stay grounded and relatable. For action, it was Amitabh Bachchan ji’s performances in Sholay that made me want to perform my own stunts. And for dance, Kamal Haasan was my inspiration. I admired his fluidity and dedication,” Chiranjeevi explained.
Akshay Kumar lauded Chiranjeevi’s heartfelt account and praised him as the true ambassador of Telugu cinema.
The WAVES Summit continues until May 4 and is expected to host numerous thought leaders, innovators, and creatives from across the global entertainment landscape.
