Blockbuster Run in India

On its 10th day, Kantara Chapter 1 recorded a remarkable ₹37 crore net collection in India a 66% jump from Friday’s figures and nearly 75% higher than Thursday’s earnings.
With this surge, the movie’s 10-day domestic total now stands at ₹396.65 crore net (₹476 crore gross).

Thanks to glowing reviews and powerful word-of-mouth, trade analysts expect the film to easily cross ₹40 crore on its 11th day in India.

Smashing Global Records

As per Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 crossed ₹509 crore worldwide in its opening week alone. By Day 10, estimates suggest the total has soared to ₹590 crore globally, although some reports place it closer to ₹560 crore.

Either way, the film has entered the Top 25 highest-grossing Indian movies ever, surpassing iconic titles such as Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3 (both around ₹558 crore).
If the ₹590 crore figure holds, it also overtakes Saiyaara (₹570 crore), Padmaavat (₹585 crore), and Sanju (₹589 crore).

A Mythical Saga That Captivated Millions

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to his 2022 hit Kantara, which grossed around ₹400 crore worldwide.
Set nearly a thousand years before the events of the original, the film explores the roots of divine power, faith, and human conflict — elements that have deeply resonated with audiences.

The movie stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah alongside Shetty, with critics praising its breathtaking visuals, immersive music, and raw emotional depth.
