In this regard, Kapu Nadu leaders, under the leadership of the Working President of Kapu Nadu State, Abbireddy Suresh, filed a complaint at the Amalapuram Town Police Station, requesting that cases be registered against Ram Gopal Varma under Section B.N.Y.S. 196 and other related sections.
On January 8, 2023, during a meeting between Telugu Desam Party President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan to discuss seat adjustments for the upcoming elections, Ram Gopal Varma posted a comment on Twitter saying, “RIP Kapus – Congratulations Kammollas.”
The complaint stated that these remarks were highly offensive to the Kapu community, as the term “RIP” was interpreted as an insult, akin to paying a tribute to the community’s downfall.
The Kapu Nadu leaders emphasized that these comments hurt the sentiments of the Kapu community, and Varma’s behavior was divisive, promoting tensions between communities and creating unrest in society. They demanded that appropriate legal action be taken against him.
The complaint further criticized Ram Gopal Varma for his degrading remarks, stating that he had disrespected the Kapu community by linking them to the phrase “RIP” and insinuating that they had been sold out for money, especially in the context of political discussions.
The leaders called for strict legal measures against Varma for his actions, which were deemed detrimental to societal harmony.
The event was attended by prominent Kapu Nadu leaders including Gangumalla Srinivas, Patti Dattudu, Thota Srinivas, Adabala Tatakapu, Villa Subbarao, Gundabathula Tatagaji, Zamba Tirupanaadam, Chaganti Prasad, Daivala Rambabu, Polishetty Veerababu, Gurrala Ramesh, Garapati Balaji, Vinti Dilip, and Darlinka Suresh, along with the youth members of the Kapu community.
