365telugu.com online news,Mumbai, August 1, 2025: Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has secured a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) order from Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a Vedanta Group company. The project is part of HZL’s expansion strategy at its Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan.
The scope of work involves setting up a 250 KTPA Leaching, Purification & Cellhouse facility along with a 125 KTPA Jarosite Circuit. The new units are aimed at producing Special High-Grade Zinc Cathodes with 99.995% purity.
Awarded on an EPC basis, the contract includes design, engineering, procurement, and full site services for the installation and commissioning of key facilities such as Calcine Storage, Leaching, Purification, and Electrowinning (Jumbo Cell House). The project will also incorporate critical support systems including utilities, ETP with RO-ZLD systems, plant electrics, instrumentation, and automation.
This order further cements L&T’s three-decade-long relationship with HZL, during which the company has consistently contributed to capacity expansions across beneficiation and smelter projects.
