Moreno will be supported by Indian rugby veteran Prince Khatri and German player Max Roddick, who have been named co-vice captains of the team. The GMR Rugby Premier League marks the world’s first franchise-based international rugby league, bringing together global rugby stalwarts and India’s finest homegrown talent.
Expressing his excitement, Manuel Moreno said, “Being named captain of the Hyderabad Heroes is a responsibility I’m thrilled to take on. Moreno, one of the top 14 players in the Sevens Series, currently represents the Spanish national team. Prince Khatri, a seasoned leader, has captained the Indian national team multiple times, while Max Roddick, representing Germany, is recognized as one of the strongest bridge players across all competing teams.
Prince Khatri shared his thoughts on his new role, stating, “The GMR Rugby Premier League is a fantastic platform to learn from international rugby icons. Being named co-vice captain alongside Max is an honor, and it’s an opportunity to develop my leadership skills.
