The awards ceremony took place at Aerocity, New Delhi, on January 10, 2025.
The ICOTY Award is regarded as India’s most coveted automotive accolade, often referred to as the ‘Oscars’ of the Indian automobile industry. This recognition is awarded by a jury of seasoned automotive journalists who evaluate new cars based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including price, fuel efficiency, design, comfort, safety, performance, practicality, innovation, value for money, and suitability for Indian driving conditions.

One of the key factors contributing to the MG Windsor’s success is its pioneering Battery as a Service (BaaS) program. This innovative ownership model allows customers to purchase the vehicle without the hefty upfront cost of the battery. Instead, they can opt for a flexible pay-as-you-go system, similar to refueling a conventional car. Customers can choose from a range of rental packages to suit their driving needs, or they can purchase the vehicle at the full ex-showroom price, which includes the battery.
The MG Windsor’s win at ICOTY 2025 follows JSW MG Motor India’s success last year, when the MG Comet EV was named the runner-up in the same category. The company’s consistent performance at these awards highlights its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the Indian automotive sector.
In addition to this accolade, JSW MG Motor India has reached another significant milestone by producing 10,000 units of the MG Windsor within just three months of its launch.
